Town Centre Monthly update

Good afternoon! 

Just wanted to give you all a quick update in regards to our recent activity.  

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are still cracking down on the Town Centres PSPO (Public Space Protection Order). We have seen a massive decrease in breaches over the last couple of months! However it is still one of our main priorities. 

As you know we have had some recent breaks on the Town Centre which have resulted in 3 lock ups. 

Keep your property/vehicles/outbuildings secure - many residents will know, several properties on the Town Centre were victim to breaks. While some crime is opportunistic, I would always encourage any residents/shop owners to undertake some security measures to protect their property and make them less ‘attractive’, or to help identify potential offenders should the worst happen. These can include CCTV cameras, lower cost wi-fi cameras, doorbell cameras and motion activated security lighting. Be vigilant to any suspicious activity in and around your area, vehicles you do not recognise (and note down their registration!). You can always call this kind of behaviour in to 101 for our attention, or if a crime is ongoing, please do report this immediately on 999. 

We have also had multiple lock ups for shoplifting offences.

If you see us out and about on Town Centre, don't be afraid to have a chat with us or tell us what we can do better to make the Town Centre safer for you!
